Slaying Hell
Hello all. I've created an online blog to deal with all my entertainment/comic/video game creation related material, and that's what your viewing now. This could also be more of a journal than livejournal, but I haven't decided yet. ;)
Slaying Hell is on its way. I've got the basic gameplay started with crude animation.

So we have our monster slayer who can walk left and right with use of the keyboard, and his right arm follows and aims at the mouse-controlled blue square (aiming reticule) no matter where you go. Excuse the three arms the guy has...I was just testing a walking animation.
I think the gameplay is unique, combining classic sidescrolling shooter action with the use of a computer mouse. The right mouse button will change your current weapon, and the left mouse button will fire the weapon. Your objective is to switch to the right weapon that will kill a certain monster, aim for their weak spot, and fire 'till they drop. Should get pretty fast with bullets and stakes flying, and some pretty gruesome death animations.
Now that the programming is almost set up for control of the character, I can go back and re-do the animations more fluently, crisper, and with color. ;) There's a long road of development ahead, but in the end we should have a nice solid, unique, PC shooter.
